ODE TO THE MATURE WOMAN

Here's to the woman who's survived her life!
Here's to the woman who has suffered strife.
Here's to the woman who tried to be wife.
Here's to the woman determined to survive.

I respect the woman determined to survive.
'Tis not always easy to stay alive;
Harder yet for a woman to thrive.
Here's to the woman who does not give in.

Hats off to that woman who did not give in!
I bow to that woman with wrinkled skin.
I drink to that woman who's no longer thin.
I love that woman who loves herself.

Proud is the woman who is proud of herself.
What's more precious than pride in oneself?
Wondrous woman, you are life itself.
Generous, the woman who shares her soul!

What's more enchanting than a woman's soul?
What's more beguiling than a woman's goal?
There's nothing till woman makes it whole.
Without a woman, nothing would be!

Only through woman can anything be!
Only through woman can mankind see.
'Twas woman who made both you and me.
'Tis woman who nurtures humanity.

Through woman comes all humanity,
While suffering through maternity,
While ensuring life's integrity,
While shaping life's destiny,
While striving toward eternity.
